Congratulations to the following Quarrier wrestlers on qualifying for the SDHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Sioux Falls. Josie, Breck, Camden, and Charlie will all represent the Quarriers with pride at the Premier Center on February 26-28. Go Quarriers!
On February 12th, we will send choral students to Brookings to participate in the High School Festival of Song and the Elementary Festival Honor Choir. The following students will represent the Quarriers: Dylan, Charlie, Dylan, Leighton, Asher, Hannah, Grace, Austyn, Alex, Paislee, Jocelyn, Jacob, Max, Violet, and Elenaor! Go Quarriers!
On February 5th, we have an outstanding evening of basketball against Tri-Valley. We will have Senior Night before the girls' and boys' games to honor our senior student-athletes. It is also jersey and autograph night. Check out the image for more information. Elementary parents/guardians, on such a fun-filled night, we would appreciate your support in making sure your students are seated and watching the game. Elementary students should be with their parents/guardians at all home games. We are excited to host such a special event and look forward to seeing you there! Go Quarriers!
The Dell Rapids Girls Basketball game against Sioux Valley is rescheduled to February 16th. C Team at 5 PM with JV and Varsity to follow.
Dell Rapids School District is closed on January 23rd. The following Quarrier activities are canceled or rescheduled.
MS Boys Basketball v. Baltic - This game is canceled. It will not be rescheduled.
HS Girls Basketball v. Sioux Valley - This game will be rescheduled. Reschedule date is TBD.

The Dell Rapids Jazz Band and Dell Rapids Choral program will not perform at Christmas at the Dells due to forecasted weather..
The girls' basketball game against Beresford, scheduled for December 6th, is postponed to January 15th. The start time is 6 PM JV with Varsity to follow. The game location will be in Beresford.

The Quarriers take on the Bulldogs in SDHSAA Playoff Football on Thursday, October 30th, in Dell Rapids. Ticket gates will open at 5:45 PM, and the kickoff is at 7 PM. Lunchtime Solutions is helping DRES celebrate Grandparents Day. Grandparents or other senior loved ones are invited to join their grandchildren on Wednesday, September 10th for breakfast, 8:05 am – 8:30 am. The cost will be $2.75 for adults with the adult meal price charged to the student’s lunch account (student price - $2.05). An informational flyer will be sent home with students.

We are excited to welcome another football season in Dell Rapids. We are again opening our doors to the St. Mary’s football team, who will be sharing our football field for their games. It’s a great opportunity to demonstrate our Quarrier spirit by being gracious hosts.
To ensure the field and bleachers are in top shape for all games, we kindly ask for your cooperation with a few guidelines. First, please make sure all blankets and tarps are removed from the bleachers immediately after each game. This will allow us to prepare the seating area for both our games and those hosted by St. Mary’s.
Additionally, we request that blankets and tarps not be placed on the bleachers until the day of the game that week, and vehicles do not enter our small parking lot next to the field until after the completion of the school day at 3:30 PM. The field will be open from 7 AM until 4 PM to place blankets/tarps. This will help us maintain a clean and organized environment for everyone.
St. Mary first home game is September 5th.
Dell Rapids first home game is September 19th.

PICTURE DAY! August 28 – Golden Blue Photography
The ordering process will be different this year. ON PICTURE DAY, your child will be given a sheet with a QR code and ordering directions. EACH student will bring their own QR direction sheet home this Thursday. Please check your child’s folder and ask them for the picture sheet when they get home from school on Thursday. You will need the QR code to place an order. Please note, it may take some time before the pictures are uploaded and available.
Welcome to DRES 2025-26! I look forward to seeing everyone at the Back-to-School Open House, Tuesday, August 19 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Students can bring their school supplies, visit their classroom, and meet their teacher.
